About

Tony was born and raised in the foothills of southern Alberta. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Conservations Sciences with a specialization in Land Reclamation and Remediation. His first job after university was conducting soils and vegetation assessment on reclaimed oil and gas wells across Alberta. In 2003, he joined EnCana Corporation as a Remediation and Reclamation Advisor and was responsible for a large component of their liability management portfolio. In 2008, he moved to EnCana’s Oils Sands Division to assume responsibility for environmental monitoring at the Christina Lake thermal in situ project. Presently Tony is the manager of Cenovus’s Regulatory Services group, which is responsible for acquiring regulatory approvals and assuring regulatory compliance. Tony also has a passion for cycling and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and son.

“I’m passionate about self-propelled two-wheeled adventures. Whenever I get a chance I like to explore new landscapes by bicycle. I am always amazed by the scenery and what you see lying in the ditch. This juxtaposition drives me to care about landscapes and be active in social and environmental causes.”
