ALBERTA EMERALD AWARD: PAT LETIZIA’S LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT

All of us at Alberta Ecotrust have an opportunity on a daily basis to see the profound impact the leadership of our President & CEO Pat Letizia has on the organizations and individuals that make a difference in Alberta’s environment. We are overjoyed to see Pat get the recognition she so deeply deserves from the community with a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Alberta Emerald Awards!

Anyone who knows Pat knows that she approaches her work with heart, humility and a deep sense of purpose and connection. These qualities were echoed by the colleagues and collaborators that contributed to her nomination including this quote from Mark Bennett, Alberta Ecotrust Board Co-Chair and recently retired Executive Director of Bow River Basin Council :

“Pat has made a formidable contribution to both an environmental and sustainability ethos which has spread across Alberta, and beyond. She has focused on building strong and enduring collaborations which not only create vision, but stimulate associated actions, resulting in practical stewardship. The stewardship she is helping to build today creates a strong foundation for multi-generational success in preserving that which is most dear to us, our environment. Pat performs this important work with focus and purpose, while maintaining a commendable level of leadership humility. She shows people how to succeed, she doesn’t just tell them what to do. Pat doesn’t work for recognition, but she certainly does work worthy of recognition.”

Pat’s list of accomplishments leaves a legacy! You can see what resonated most with the Alberta Emeralds Award jury here.

Please join us in congratulating Pat on her Lifetime Achievement Award and celebrating all of the shortlisted organizations and individuals being recognized for their extraordinary environmental work in Alberta!

The Alberta Emerald Awards announced the results of the Lifetime Achievement Award category on March 26 alongside the shortlists for project categories. Pat’s Lifetime Achievement Award will be celebrated at the June 1 virtual Alberta Emerald Awards Ceremony.
