Program Specialist, Retrofit Accelerator
Leanne’s passion for sustainable energy began at a young age, having grown up in a community that has been significantly impacted by both climate change and the energy transition. She began her career as a geoscientist but pivoted to sustainable development to meet the growing need for climate action and energy management. Leanne has nearly a decade of combined professional and deep retrofit planning experience and holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Development from the University of Calgary.
Her experience in internal risk analysis and business case development for deep retrofit plans lends a unique understanding of the challenges faced by organizations looking to achieve net-zero operations. She has led multi-stakeholder engagement for community development and decarbonization initiatives and has supported the implementation of a wide range of climate adaptation tactics, from waste reduction to water-use management. Her expertise lies in greenhouse gas emissions and energy-use modelling, climate risk assessment and techno-economic analysis.
Outside the office, Leanne’s young family keeps her busy, and she can often be found shuttling from one activity to the next, camping in the mountains or immersed in a book. She is also an avid gardener, a hobby that consumes most of her free time, from seed-starting in the spring to preserving her harvest in the fall.
