Thomas Holloway

Chair, Investment Committee

Thomas Holloway is a tenured finance professor at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business and a co-author of the Canadian edition of the Fundamentals of Corporate Finance textbook. He brings expertise in institutional portfolio construction, capital budgeting and energy transition to the Alberta Ecotrust board, which he joined via the investment committee. 

Prior to his academic career, Thomas built a strong foundation in institutional investment management, holding roles at Leith Wheeler and Genus Capital. He holds a Master of Science in Mathematics and a CFA Charter and maintains a deep focus on institutional investment models.

In addition to his work with Alberta Ecotrust, Thomas serves as Board Treasurer at Pembina Institute and Swim Alberta. Originally from Whitehorse, Yukon, he now lives on an acreage near Calgary with his family. Outside of work, family, and volunteering, he's probably running.
