Goodwill’s Repair for Good program aims to reduce the amount of furniture entering the landfill, training persons with disabilities (PwDs) to gain skills and employment, and to maximize the value of furniture donations sold in their thrift stores while providing our customers with affordable and attractive furniture. In the first quarter of 2020, this program helped divert over 4000 pounds of wood waste from the landfill.

The woodworkers make use of donated furniture, equipment, and supplies to design pieces fit for everyone’s home. This year, they will further how they help their customers reduce their carbon footprint by upcycling everyday goods into furniture and provide furniture repair and refinishing services to their customers.
