ST. PAUL’S GREENHOUSE GAS REDUCTION PROJECTCategory: 2018, Climate, Current, EcoCity Edmonton, Grant
The mission of the St. Paul’s Anglican Church is to “connect people with God, and each other”. With support from EcoCity Edmonton the church plans to lead their parishioners and surrounding community to work toward a common goal of better stewardship of our planet-God’s creation. As part of an overall program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the church will install a 20 KW solar array on the roof of the parish facility.
In addition to the solar array, the church will foster connections in their parish through outreach and education in the local community to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and air quality. While a solar installation is not possible for most homeowners at this time, they intend to show community members that by modifying their behavior at home, on the road, and in their workplaces, they can have a substantial impact on gas emissions.
