Evergreen Theatre’s environmental twist on the classic “Goldilocks” fairy tale will promote climate literacy for young audiences through the compelling lens of musical theatre.

The “Goldilocks and the Three Polar Bears” show will tour throughout Alberta schools inspiring students, educators and the wider community to better understand, and reflect upon, current and future climate change challenges and opportunities, while examining the impact of individual and collective actions and decisions on plants, animals and people.

Interesting plot-lines, playful props, creative characters, combined with catchy concept-based songs based on popular, recognizable music, will allow for students to more easily digest scientific content and make the learning experience more accessible, fun and relatable.

Students are thus more likely to retain the climate concepts conveyed, and make present and future connections to their learning and personal lives, leading to more informed, environmentally-minded choices in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and positively contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation in Alberta communities.
