In partnership with the City of Calgary, Evergreen Theatre will design and develop educational materials for elementary students and teachers that promote awareness and action with regard to urban environmental challenges and opportunities.

Student learning will be enhanced through the incorporation of dramatic exploration and performance of eco-inspired plays based on the themes of water sustainability, the important role of wetlands, waste reduction strategies, the value of parks and natural areas, co-existing with local wildlife and the critical need for climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Students experience far greater engagement when art reflects life and makes knowledge, and facts come alive.

This dramatic element brings a compelling and empowering interpretative lens leading to deeper understanding of environmental issues and inspiring positive action in our local communities.
