Project Forest requires land to rewild, without land we do not have an organization. Between Oct 2023 and Sept 2024 Project Forest plans to build on existing relationships and build new ones with First Nation and Metis communities across Alberta.

This grant will help us build cross-sectoral capacity through relationship building, continue to develop our diverse partnership list across Alberta which in turn will identify degraded and nonproductive agricultural land that is better purposed as a forest than its current state. Our two objectives when working with Indigenous community partners are:
1. Re-introduce traditional foods back onto the landscape
2. Re-establish traditional land use opportunities for community members
