Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting the financial health of a charitable organization? Alberta Ecotrust is seeking a part-time Bookkeeping Data Entry Clerk to join our team in Calgary. In this essential role, you'll play a key part in maintaining the financial health and transparency of our organization. As the Bookkeeping and Data Entry clerk, you'll be a vital part of the finance and accounting team. Reporting directly to the Office and Administration Manager, you will be responsible for accurate and timely data entry, invoice filing, and audit support.

This position is responsible for the following:

  • Accounts Payable Data Entry: Receive, match, verify, and enter vendor invoices, staff expense reports, general operational bills, and internal grant payment requests. Generate semi-monthly accounts payable reports.

  • Invoice Filing: Ensure all incoming invoices are properly filed and organized in both physical and digital systems.

  • Data Accuracy and Integrity: Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data, including regular checks for errors and discrepancies.

  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information with strict confidentiality.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Office and Administration Manager and support the Finance Team with external audits.

Qualifications

Reporting directly to the Office and Administration Manager, a successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience: 2 years previous experience with QuickBooks Advanced is required. With 5 years prior bookkeeping and data entry experience. Previous experience in a non-profit environment is beneficial but not essential. Previous experience in file management. Knowledge of records management best practices.

  • Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Advanced, working with multiple classes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Ability to work independently and handle confidential information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong understanding of G Suite and use of Excel.

  • Education: Business Administration Diploma or QuickBooks Pro Certification with additional coursework in Record Management preferred.

This is a part-time role with a set schedule of approximately 2 days or 14 hours per week in person at our Calgary office.

Remuneration

The starting salary: $25 - 30 per hour depending on experience.
