This project has helped Albertans, from ranchers to mountain guides, become ‘conservation champions’, speaking up for the landscape they love and depend on. Science-based management is central to conserving the East Kananaskis-Ghost’s crucial headwaters, habitat and ecology for current and future generations.

They have brought diverse organizations, grassroots groups and individuals together to understand what nature needs and agree on a common vision–generating the critical mass of support needed to persuade our government to protect this natural heritage.

Through this work, the Coalition continues to progress towards a collective vision for the region that supports Y2Y’s Alberta program work towards our long-term goals of improving the status of Alberta’s grizzly bear population and maintaining the health of gravel river bed systems.
