Deep retrofits are a whole building system approach to making a building net-zero through super-insulating the structure, air-sealing, renewables and electrification. What is needed is a simple step-by-step route to guide builders and building owners to the resources they need, in the order they need them a Retrofit Roadmap. Retrofit Canada launched version one of the Retrofit Roadmap in the summer of 2023.

Their project, Retrofit Roadmap, created a database of net-zero projects and developed a roadmap for similar buildings to complete net-zero retrofits.
