The Weaselhead/Glenmore Park Preservation Society will be collecting data to monitor key environmental indicators in the Weaselhead Natural Environment Park in 2021 – for the 5th year in a 7-year study into the impact of constructing the South West Calgary Ring Road across the Elbow Valley upstream of the Park.

The Study will compare conditions before, during and after construction.

2021 will provide the first data from the operational period of the road (opened in Oct. 2020). Study reports, produced annually, are available online on the Society’s website.

The Study will enable evidence-based, informed discussion about the impact of constructing major infrastructure across riparian zones on local aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
