Not all residents will benefit from the improved housing, infrastructure and enhanced quality of life offered by decarbonization. The most overlooked households are the 6-16% of Edmonton families deeply affected by energy poverty (the inability of a household to maintain adequate access to energy services at a reasonable cost). This project seeks to facilitate a just and equitable transition for the providers of subsidized housing. This sector has long been identified as a particularly challenging area for energy efficiency and conservation. This project will work with three major social housing providers in Edmonton to demonstrate the business case to lower the carbon footprint of their building stock, and engage property owners to explore new models to finance energy-efficient upgrades.

All One Sky aims to increase the familiarity and ability of social housing providers to mainstream ambitious levels of energy efficiency into planned upgrades of existing buildings and to adopt higher building standards for new construction.
